On Man constantly manages to allow his music to float between a variety of genres, with his latest cut, ‘Darks’, continuing to do exactly that. He brings various experimental electronic soundscapes together into a strange world of R&B and pop music, while managing to keep a Bon Iver-esque vocoder sounding interesting for three minutes. The industrial sounds of his music combine with a surreal visualiser that could be plucked straight out of a David Lynch film. He explains that “this is me, creatively. This is the first project where I made purely artistic decisions. I have dispensed with any industry or career-led decisions to make the music that I wanted to make and that I wanted to listen to as well.” This honest and unique approach to composition shows On Man as one to watch. - Dan Peeke
